1-Year Manufacturing Defects Warranty
Every new Fatyak kayak is backed by our 1-Year Manufacturing Defects Warranty from the date of purchase.
This warranty gives you peace of mind that your kayak has been manufactured to the highest standards using quality materials and rigorous quality control procedures.
Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
What Is Covered?
Our warranty covers defects resulting from:

- Manufacturing faults that affect the normal use of the kayak.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will, at our discretion:
- Repair the product.
- Supply replacement parts.
- Replace the kayak.
- Offer an appropriate refund where repair or replacement is not possible.
What Is Not Covered?
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Cosmetic scratches or scuffs.
- Impact with rocks, jetties or other hard objects.
- Improper storage.
- Excessive exposure to heat or open flames.
- UV damage caused by prolonged outdoor storage.
- Transport damage after delivery.
- Accidental damage.
- Modifications or alterations.
- Improper use or misuse.
- Commercial hire or rental use unless agreed in writing.
- Damage caused by towing behind boats or other vehicles.

Minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the kayak's performance are considered normal for rotationally moulded products and are not covered under warranty.
Looking After Your Kayak
A little care goes a long way.
After every adventure we recommend:
- Rinse your kayak with fresh water, especially after use in salt water.
- Remove sand, mud and debris.
- Allow it to dry before storing.
- Inspect the kayak for any damage.
- Check that fittings remain secure.
Regular cleaning will help keep your kayak looking its best.
Cleaning
To clean your kayak:
- Use fresh water.
- Wash with mild soap if required.
- Use a soft sponge or cloth.
Do not use:
- Solvents
- Petrol or diesel
- Bleach
- Abrasive cleaners
- Strong chemicals
- Pressure washers at close range
These products may damage the surface of the kayak or its fittings.
Storage
Correct storage will greatly extend the life of your kayak.
We recommend storing your kayak:
- Indoors where possible.
- In a cool, dry location.
- Away from prolonged direct sunlight.
- Supported evenly on suitable kayak supports or racks.
- Off the ground where practical.
Avoid storing heavy objects on top of the kayak, as this may cause unnecessary distortion over time.
Transporting Your Kayak
When transporting your kayak:
- Use suitable roof bars or a trailer.
- Secure the kayak using quality straps.
- Do not overtighten the straps.
- Support the kayak evenly during transport.
- Check that the kayak is secure before every journey.
Always follow your vehicle manufacturer's roof load limits.
Avoid Excessive Heat
HDPE is an extremely durable material, but prolonged exposure to excessive heat can cause distortion.
Avoid leaving your kayak:
- Next to open fires.
- Close to heaters.
- Under dark covers in extreme temperatures.
- In contact with hot exhausts or engines.
If your kayak becomes warm during transport or storage, allow it to cool naturally.
General Wear
Your kayak is designed to be used and enjoyed.
Over time you may notice:
- Surface scratches.
- Minor scuff marks.
- Light fading.
- Wear to fittings and accessories.
These are normal signs of recreational use and do not affect the structural integrity of your kayak.
