The beginning

Founded in 1994, Techneat has built a strong reputation as
one of the UK's leading rotomoulding specialists. For over 30 years, we have
been manufacturing our own range of high-quality sprayer tanks, outdoor pig
equipment, and providing contract rotomoulding services for businesses across a
wide range of industries. Our commitment to innovation, quality, and British
manufacturing has remained at the heart of everything we do, allowing us to
deliver durable products that customers can rely on.

Our kayak journey begins

In 2023, we were given the exciting opportunity to
manufacture kayaks for Fatyak, combining our decades of rotomoulding expertise
with one of the UK's best-loved kayak brands. That partnership quickly proved
to be a natural fit, and in the summer of 2026, Techneat proudly acquired
Fatyak. With the brand now part of the Techneat family, we have an exciting
vision to grow Fatyak, expand its product range, and make high-quality,
UK-manufactured kayaks more accessible than ever before.

The future

By taking a more direct approach to the market, we're able
to offer exceptional value without compromising on quality. Every Fatyak kayak
is proudly manufactured in the UK using the same expertise and attention to
detail that has defined Techneat for over three decades. As we continue to
develop the brand, we'll also be launching an exciting new range of Fatyak

FAQs & User Guide

What features are standard on the Fatyak™?

The Fatyak™ Surf is our basic kayak, this comes with padeyes and toggle carry handles. The Fatyak™ Kaafu comes with 2 x waterproof storage hatches, moulded in carry handles, 2 x paddle parks and rear storage compartment. The Fatyak™ Mahee has all of the same features as the Kaafu.

I'm new to kayaking; what equipment do I need?

To get you started you will need the Fatyak™, paddle and seat back plus a buoyancy aid – all of which are available in our accessory section.

What are the weight restrictions for Fatyak's kayaks?

The Fatyak™ Surf has a weight limit of 90kgs, the Fatyak™ Kaafu is 130kgs and the Fatyak™ Mahee has a combined weight limit of 200kgs. They will all take more, but you will sit lower in the water. We have not heard of anyone that is too big for a Fatyak™ Yet!

I own a watersports centre and am looking to buy kayaks for hire. Why should I choose Fatyak kayaks?

Our UK made Fatyak™ Kayaks are perfect for the rental market as they are very stable, easy to paddle, great for paddlers of all abilities, we offer an excellent range of accessories, after sales care and they are especially robust kayaks meaning you can enjoy them for a much longer lifetime than imported kayaks. I want to know more about Fatyak™ 's Quality System.

Fatyak™ Kayaks operate within a quality system accredited to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHAS 18001 standards which are independently verified by external auditors. Each Fatyak™ is inspected and approved during assembly. Each Fatyak™ is inspected and approved after assembly by specially trained quality personnel. are all manufactured in accordance to BS7852 Throughout our many years of experience working in plastics we have developed to a customer focused approach by the way we control and inspect all of our products.

Products are assessed against 3 criteria using a risk assessment approach based on risk to the customer:

Functionality – will the product perform correctly and meet or exceed the customer’s expectations of longevity?

Aesthetics – does the product meet or exceed the customer’s expectations?

Legal requirements – does the product comply or exceed all relevant legal regulations and standards?

Any defects discovered are recorded against the products unique serial number and investigated fully, allowing us to amend our processes, implement training or further control checks to stop repeat failures. Our team of experience operators and support staff get together daily and weekly to review and resolve quality issues allowing everyone in our team to understand the importance of a customer focused approach.
